Experience the allure of a historic 1932 Craftsman home with ample room for gatherings or a quiet retreat for those who appreciate historical residences. Noteworthy features include raked mortar style masonry, a spacious front porch, original glass front door, a butler’s staircase, vintage Nutone doorbell, and wide trim throughout. The living and dining rooms are connected with elegant French doors, providing a seamless communal space.
While small gatherings are permitted, please keep in mind that the property comfortably accommodates 12 people overnight. Inform us if you plan to host a small event. There is parking space for four vehicles on-site, with additional free parking nearby, including an EV charger at the visitor center.
Entertain yourself with music and memories during your stay, courtesy of an extensive vinyl record collection sourced mainly from local small businesses. A guitar from Praise Guitars, just a 2-minute walk away, is available for strumming along. Art, books, and local recommendations from Luray add a personalized touch to the ambiance.
Enjoy board games, including classic favorites like Monopoly, Sorry!, and Scrabble, around the coffee table or dining area. During the day, work comfortably from one of the three rooms with king-size beds, each equipped with a desk. All three Roku TVs can easily cast your laptop, functioning as a convenient second monitor. Xfinity provides reliable internet service for all your work and leisure needs.
For sleeping arrangements, choose from four bedrooms with a variety of mattress types, including memory foam and hybrid mattresses. There are two full bathrooms and one half bathroom, conveniently located both downstairs and upstairs. Essential items are available in the upstairs bathroom, and earplugs are provided for light sleepers.
Pets are welcome! Please inform us about your furry friends when booking. Pet fees are covered if selected during the reservation process. We acknowledge town noises and provide white noise machines and earplugs in each bedroom to ensure a peaceful stay.
Explore the town and nearby attractions, including the Luray visitor center, train museum, Shenandoah National Park, Luray Caverns, Stover Hall, Faithbrooke, and Lake Arrowhead, all within a short drive. Our location, though in town, offers quick snow clearance during winter as we are on the alternate emergency route for the local hospital.
You’ll have private access to the entire home, excluding the basement (used for storage) and an unfinished bonus room (locked). Feel free to reach out via messages or texts as I am highly responsive.
Take advantage of the town’s walkability, where you can stroll through the downtown/main street area. Directly from our shared driveway, a pass-through street leads you to Broad Porch Coffee shop, an excellent starting point for your day. Additionally, we are steps away from Luray’s newest restaurant, Watch and Warrant.
Please be cautious when exiting the driveway, as it is managed by the town and may be a bit rough for lower vehicles. Note that town noises, such as street and train traffic, as well as the town’s emergency siren, are part of the urban setting.
